32/10030 Wellhead approximately 3 metres north of Gymnasium

Well head. Dated 1567 in Roman numerals. Black marble with white streaks, probably Travertine. Bulbous shape, bearing oval crest with rampant lion and crown above, on octagonal base. Partly legible inscription probably reads AN NIO BON SIGNOR and the date 1567 in Roman numerals. This was the original centrepiece of the rose garden and has probably been in its current position for over a hundred years.
