Listed Building: WESTERNMOST OF A PAIR OF SPHINXES TO WEST OF COMBE BANK (1244293)

TQ 4855 SUNDRIDGE COMBE BANK ROAD 32/10029 Westernmost of a pair of sphinxes to west of Combe Bank GV II Garden statue. One of pair of probable C18 Portland stone sphinxes based on classical antique Egyptian models, situated either side of a flight of mid C19 steps. Sphinx is about 5 feet in length, in recumbent position and set on rectangular stone base. It has probably been in this position since the rose garden was laid out in the C19.
