EDENBRIDGE EDENBRIDGE 5280 High Street (West Side) The Crown Hotel TQ 4446 12/442 10.9.54. II* GV 2. Timber framed structure of 2 builds. C15 right part of 2 storeys, 3 windows. 2-storey 2-window left part looks slightly later. High pitched tiled roofs hipped at left. Left section has weatherboarded 1st floor and pointed brick ground floor; C18 sash windows with glazing bars in flush moulded frames on 1st floor; modern half glazed door and small shop window with bars on ground floor. Carriageway at right of left section, on heavy oak beams with corner brackets. Right part has weatherboarded 1st floor with C18 flush framed sash windows with glazing bars; ground floor, boarded to imitate stone courses, has half glazed door flanked by reproduction leaded casements. Signboard on ornamental wrought iron brackets, stretching right across street. Interior - C16 carved stone fireplace surround in front room. C15 carved oak crown post in attic. Various moulded exposed beams and other features. No 72 (Church House) with its Barn and The Crown Hotel form a Group. Listing NGR: TQ4437746118
