Description

1. 5280 CHIDDINGSTONE HOATH CORNER Skinners House Cottages TQ 44 SE 53/279 10.9.54. II 2. House of 2 periods. C15 hall house at left masked by C16 or early Cl7 extensions at front and right. Formerly divided into 4 dwellings, now empty and awaiting reconversion to single residence. To left - Gable ended projection with diamond paned windows and gable end oversailing and supported on carved wooden brackets and moulded crosspiece. 2 storeys and small gable end attic window. In centre smaller gable ended projection forming porch. 1st floor was jettied but ground floor now built out. To right - Ridge tile roof with stack and small ½ dormer. 2 storeys. Plain cottage casements. West elevation - Ridge tile roof with one end hipped. Partly tile hung and with weatherboarded addition to rear. Random stone plinth. Inside large inglenooks of dressed stone with carved beams. Dais panelling with moulded beam above and much other exposed timber. Listing NGR: TQ4972043093
