2. (At one time known as Batts House). Irregular ½ timbered Cl6 structure with large modern additions built on side of hill with various ascending floors to allow for the fall in level of site. Multiple of gable end elevations with exposed vertical ½ timbering and rendered infilling. Partly brick and tile hung with ½ hipped ended tile roof and central chimney stack. Leaded casement windows and modern projecting tiled porch at entrance with period oak door. Originally a small farmhouse it was very much restored and enlarged about 190O. Interesting interior with some very good Cl6 and early C17 panelling, most of it brought from Chiddingstone Castle. Ornamental carved screen, at one time fo+ming part of a family pew at Chiddingstone Church.
