Description

EDENBRIDGE EDENBRIDGE 1. 5280 High Street (West Side) Nos 86 to 90 (even) TQ 4446 12/443 II GV 2. Restored late mediaeval timber framed, structure. 2 storeys, 5 irregular windows in all. High pitched tiled roof has 2 returned gables, possibly later, with bargeboards and pendants. On 1st floor visible timber framing, some restored, with plaster filling. Brick ground floor. Small left extension with blocked window of C15 appearance. Modern shop fronts at left and right. Other windows leaded casements. Jettied 1st floor in centre. Below this old brick wall and reproduction Tudor studded plank door. End of No 90 overhanging Mill Stream with tile hung gable-ended elevation and brick slaughter house to rear with ridge tile roof. Small foot bridge over stream leading to tannery. Nos 86 to 96 (even) form a group. Listing NGR: TQ4439546067
