HILDENBOROUGH LONDON ROAD (north east side) TQ 54 NE 5/124 Memorial cross about llm south east of the tower of the Church - of St John GV II
Memorial cross. Circa 1867. Freestone. A tall stone cross with a chamfered shaft and arms on a plinth with cusped gables on all 4 sides. The plinth stands on 3 steps. The inscription commemorates Francis (surname illegible), died 1857.
An ambitious Gothic memorial and one of the earliest in the churchyard.
