BIRLING CP BIRLING ROAD TQ 65 NE (east side) 7/100 Birling Ashes - II Farmhouse, now house. C17 with C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Red brick ground floor. lst floor with mock half-timbering. Plain tiled half-hipped roof with central return gable, decorated barge boards and pendant. 3 off-ridge stacks in valley behind ridge. 2 storeys and attics; irregular 3-window 1st floor and 4-window ground floor. Windows flanking central door, carved and panelled with linenfold decoration. Diamond and polygonal lattice casements. Central boarded door flanked by 2 carved wooden figures on brackets. North front flanked by 2 red brick 1 storey out buildings, now converted into living accom- modation both with stone mullioned windows, that to right the hall. Interior: Evidence of substantial C17 timber-frame. Listing NGR: TQ6767861234
