Description

1. HIGH STREET 1732 (West Side) Tonbridge School The Chapel TQ 5947 SW 5/35F 8.5.50. II 2. 1900-1909. Architect Campbell Jones. This is a fine modem Gothic building in Perpendicular style. Red brick with a horizontal panel of chequered work in diamonds of flints and stone above ground floor. 7 large Perpendicular windows above this with buttresses flanking each. Slate roof. Octagonal shingled turret at the west end with open work lantern surmounted by copper ogee-shaped cupola, with a small gable below this lantern on north and south sides. Listing NGR: TQ5906547021
