Description

AYLESFORD CP HIGH STREET TQ 7258 & TQ 7259 (north side) 11/61 & 12/61 Nos 24 and 26 GV II House, now house pair. Dated 1767. Red and blue brick chequer with bands. Plain tiled roof of two parallel ridges with end stacks. 4 storeys; regular 3-window front, the windows of the central bay all blocked. All windows glazing bar sashes with open boxes and gauged heads. The windows decrease in size from ground to 3rd floors, being slightly shallower on the 1st floor than on the ground floor, the narrowing as well as becoming increasingly shallow on the two floors above. Paired central doorways in centre with panelled doors in archi- trave surrounds and with a continuous flat hood over. Shared steps up to entrances. Dated stone breaking into platband between 1st and 2nd floors, reading: I A E 1767 Listing NGR: TQ7301059001
