Description

WEST MALLING TQ6857 KING STREET 1156-0/3/110 No.46 GV II Shop, originally an open hall-house later oasthouses. Late C15 refronted in C19 with C20 flat-roofed extension not of special interest. Ground floor front has C19 brickwork. 1st floor projects with jetty and is pargetted. Very steeply pitched C20 tiled roof with 1 truncated oast to rear. Side elevation has 1 small window. Front elevation has 2 C19 casements. Interior has close-studding and a cut-off late C15 or early C16 octagonal crownpost with lamb's tongue stop and 4 head braces to collar. The 1st floor of the building is a flying freehold and is reached through No 2 West Street (qv). Listing NGR: TQ6800157773
