Description

TQ 55 SE PLAXTOL TONBRIDGE ROAD 3/12 (east side) Lodge and Gatepiers 100 yds west of Fairlawne II Lodge. Mid C19. Painted brick with plain tiled roof, hipped to east and west over splayed ends and with return gable over central projection. Barge-boards, pendant and finial to gable. Large rear stack. One-storey; 3 casement windows in raised surrounds in splayed ends. Central ribbed door with flat bracketed hood facing south. The lodge is sited between the inner and outer gate-piers on the north side of the entrance drive, interrupting the curving entrance wall. Square dressed stone piers with ashlar dressings, plinth and cornice, surmounted by large stone globes. C19 spearhead railings and cast-iron gates. Partial painted dressed stone wall, 6 ft high, to north, full length between piers to south. Listing NGR: TQ5933754660
