Plan: Approximately rectangular, the southern wall bowed out, with a flight of steps in the centre at the north end leading down into the garden, which is planted with roses. Pergola archways lead out of the garden at the south west and south east ends; statue in centre. The retaining walls are coped with square section piers at intervals, each pier crowned by a finial in the form of a bowl of fruit. The statue in the centre, on a Portland stone plinth, depicts Bacchus. One of 3 formal gardens round Nizels House and important to the setting of the building. Listing NGR: TQ5467849570
