Oasthouse. C19 origins, rebuilt after an early C20 fire and repaired after damage caused by the 1987 hurricane. Flemish bond brick with peg-tile roofs.
Plan: adjoining rectangular blocks on a north south axis, the western block with a cylindrical kiln at the north end.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical north elevation, facing the road. To the left (east) is the gable end of the east stowage block with one ground and one first floor early C10 9-pane window. The kiln, to the right, is cylindrical and preserves its conical roof and cowl. It has one unglazed window on the west side. The left (east) return of the east stowage block has a door to the left and a matching first floor 9-pane window to the right; the rear elevation has a loft door. The west stowage block has a large C20 doorway in the south end. The west return has one first and one ground floor 9-pane window to the right and a door and loft door to the left.
Interior: segmental arched doorways between the stowage blocks. The kiln does not preserve its furnace.
The oasthouse is part of a farmstead group associated with the Old Barn Tea House (q.v.). An advertisement for the tea house is painted on the north side of the kiln in large letters 'Old Barn Tea House. Oceans of cream'.
