Description

STAPLEHURST COUCHMAN GREEN TQ 74 NE LANE (East side) 2/82 Sweetlands Couchman Green II Farmhouse. Mid C18. Chequered red and grey brick with red brick dressings. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attic. Rubbed red brick plat band with moulded soffit. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. Flush red brick quoins. Red brick "chainĂ¢ge" between central first- floor window and doorway. Gabled, with gable end stacks. Hipped 2- light dormer. Regular 3-window front of two 3-light and one 2-light casement. Cambered heads with rubbed brick voussoirs to 3-light ground-floor casements. Central door with fielded panels, plain frieze, and moulded flat hood on brackets. Short 2-storey rear wing to right, tile-hung on first floor, and with mansard roof. 1960's 2-storey rear wing to left, brick on ground floor, tile-hung above. Interior not inspected.
