STAPLEHURST HIGH STREET TQ 7843 (East side) 5/124 Wimborne Cottage GV II House, formerly house and shop, now house. C16 or earlier, with C17, C19 and C20 alterations. Timber framed. Ground floor red brick, first floor weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. Approximately 3 timber-framed bays, probably extending further to left. 2 storeys. Gabled, with slightly-projecting wall-plate ends and verges. Arch-braced tie-beam to left gable end, and plain crown-post with one foot brace. Collar purlin continues to collar between projecting verges. Multiple brick ridge stack to left of centre. Irregular fenestration of 4 casements, some leaded; three 3-light and one 2-light under stack. Ribbed door up 2 steps under stack. Rear lean-to. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ7862943052
