Open hall of one timber-framed bay, with further very narrow bay or subdivision at south end, adjoining cross-passage. Storeyed end bays, that to south end subdivided to contain undershot cross- passage. Hall floored, probably with timber stack in the south end subdivision, in C16 or early C17. Two storeys and garret, on painted stone plinth. Close-studded. East elevation (Formerly rear, now front): north gable end jettied. Underbuilt jetty to south gable end. First floor partly rendered, with one arch brace to south end bay and one to cross-passage subdivision. Roof half-hipped to south, hipped to north. Brick ridge stack straddling south end of hall and cross-passage. Irregular fenestration of 3 windows; one 4-light diamond mullion window with pegged cill to south end bay, one 4-light casement to hall, and one latticed casement with pegged cill to north end bay. Tall blocked 5-light diamond mullion window towards centre of hall; probably the north half of the C15 hall window. Ribbed door with 4-centred arched architrave to north end of south end bay, under open wooden porch. Doorway with hollow spandrels to west end of cross-passage. Interior: exposed framing. Moulded and brattished north end-of-hall beam with close- studded partition under. Moulded and brattished spear with integral post and panel under it, protruding from beam. Rebated principal posts to north end of hall. Evidence for central "service" door or doors to south end room. Chamfered axial beam and joists to inserted floor. Hall fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and cambered wooden bressumer. C18 fireplace to south side of stack, encroaching on cross-passage. Listing NGR: TQ7321453710
