HEAD CORN SMARDEN ROAD TQ 842 441 (South side) 7/92 Former Toll House at TQ 842 441 II Toll house, now house. Early C19 with later alterations. Chequered red and grey brick in Flemish bond to front elevation and gable ends. Rear elevation small blocks Bethersden marble. Plain tile roof. Built at junction of Smarden Road and Biddenden Road. Rectangular nlan. Biddenden Road elevation: 2 storeys. Plat band. Slightly projecting eaves with flat soffits. Hipped roof. Rear stack to left and slightly projecting stack to right gable end. Regular 2-window front of 2-light casements. Small 12-pane Gothick casement to ground floor of left gable end. No rear windows except small ground-floor light. Boarded door with segmental head in brick porch to left gable end. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ8420044100
