Description

HEADCORN STATION ROAD TQ 8344 [North side) The Baptist Chapel 10/93 26.4.68 GV II Baptist chapel. 1819. Red brick in Flemish bond. Slate roof. Built at right-angles to road. 2-storey height, on low brick plinth. South-east and south-west angle buttresses. Gable treated as triangular pediment, with thin stone eaves band and verges. Gable end has regular 3-window front of recessed 12-pane sashes with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Round-headed ground-floor windows, also with rubbed brick voussoirs. Central round-headed doorway, with plain double doors and fanlight with radiating glazing bars. Painted panel in gable with date 1819. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ8361044204
