ULCOMBE BOY COURT LANE TQ 84 NW (north side) Boy Court 5/168 Farmhouse 26.4.68 II Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17, with slightly earlier wing to rear. Late C18 alterations. Timber framed. Front elevation clad with red and grey brick in Flemish bond to ground floor. and mathematical tiles to first floor. Right gable end mathema- tical tiles. Rear of left gable end and rear wall framed in small panels, some close-studded, some with decorative ogee bracing. Rear wing timber framed with broadly-spaced studding and plaster infilling. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys on brick plinth, with plat band in Flemish bond. Boxed wooden eaves cornice. Projecting brick stack in English bond to left, with moulded plinth and off-set, tumbled brick-work to shoulder, and octagonal flue on moulded plinth with renewed moulded cap. Central rear brick stack of 2 star-plan flues joined to central rectangular pier, all with corniced tops. Plain, slightly projecting brick stack to right gable end. Irregular fenestration of 4 broad leaded casements with top lights; 3 of 3 lights, and one over door of 2 lights. Panelled door with 6 small top lights under flat hood up 3 steps to right of centre. Rear stair turret immediately to left of central stack. Rear wing to left of centre, probably belonging to an earlier house. Interior: said to contain newel staircase, panelling, and carved door heads. Roof (visible from left gable end) of clasped purlins with diminishing principal rafters.
