EAST SUTTON TQ 84 NW 5/59 West half of Stock Yard at East Sutton Park GV II
West half of stock yard. Mid C19, probably by C.J. Richardson. Red brick in Flemish bond on stone plinth. Plain tile roofs. West, and half of north side of rectangular courtyard. Central Gatehouse to west side: 2 storeys with chamfered corners. Gable with moulded brick coping, kneelers, and cut brick finials. Blank shield to gable. 3-light wood mullion first floor window. 4-centred arched gateway with rubbed brick voussoirs. Flanking buildings: set back from face of gatehouse. Single storey with slightly, projecting gabled bay at each end. C19 and C20 doors and windows. Stepped wall with moulded brick coping and coped rectangular piers running to north and returning to east linking gatehouse range to buildings on north side of courtyard. Barn on north side of yard. 2 storeys gabled. 3 slits to north under eaves and 5 narrow horizontal ground floor windows. Rectangular light to west gable end. First floor door in east gable end. Wall curves to entrance gates in centre of north side of yard. Rectangular gate piers. Interiors not inspected. See also item 5/60 and 5/61.
