Incorporates Faversham Road, Nos. 2 and 4. House or houses and shop; ground floor of north end of Faversham Road range once stables; now houses and shops. Right cross-wing (no. 7) early-to-mid C15, rest mid-to-late C15, with late C16, C18 and C19 alterations. Timber framed, partly plastered, partly with plaster infilling, and plain tile roof. Right cross-wing storeyed, 2 timber- framed bays deep, possibly originally with shop to right side of ground floor. Rest Wealden built against, cross-wing, separately framed, of 2 unequal bays, with storeyed bay to left end, on corner. Rear range to left, fronting Faversham Road, 3 or 4 bays, with corridor down right (rear) side. C18 stair turret in angle between 2 ranges. 2 storeys and cellar. Elevation to Square has wide, and deeply jettied, end bay, with jetty returned along side elevation on moulded dragon post. Right cross wing much narrower, with underbuilt jetty and jettied eaves (with inner and outer wall- plate), bradly-spaced studs and 2 tension braces. Left bay of hall close-studded on first floor, right bay has horizontal rail half way up first floor. Inner wall-plate slightly lower than flying wall- plate, with curved brace to latter on left side and solid bracket beneath central tie-beam. Roof hipped to left, with gablet, returning along left-side elevation, and hipped to junction with cross-wing to right. Cross-wing roof hipped to Square, projecting slightly beyond rest of range; with gablet. Small red brick stack to left end. Irregular fenestration of 3 windows; one 3-light casement to left bay, one C20 3-light casement to left bay of hall and one 4-light ovolo-moulded mullion window to cross-wing. Ground floor has C19 canted bay window to left bay. Ground floor of hall canopied out to same plane as jetties, with 2 C19 shop bay windows, that to left with shaped brackets under, both over weatherboarding. C19 baby window beneath right jetty with vertical wooden cellar hatches under. 4-centred arched door-head with hollow spandrels to right end of left, jettied; bay, with half-glazed and panelled door. Half- glazed and panelled door to left end of right bay of hall. Boarded door to left end of cross-wing. Elevation to Faversham Road: bracketted jetty with moulded fascia board, underbuilt at left end in painted brick. Broadly-spaced with ogee tension braces to right end bay. Roof hipped with gablet to left. Large brick stack in front slope of roof at junction with range to Square, and smaller brick stack to left end. Irregular fenestration of 3 first-floor casements. Traces of earlier windows including partially blocked 8-light ovolo-moulded mullion window towards centre of first floor. Boarded doors with flat bracketted hoods, to No. 2 to left of centre, and to No. 4 at left end. Weatherboarded lean-to to left end. Interior: Right cross- wing has moulded crown-post, and fragment of diamond mullion in front elevation. Moulded crown-posts to hall and rear range, latter with cambered, hollow-chamfered tie-beam. 4-centred arched door- head in partition to left end of hall. 2 late C16 and one early C17 moulded stone fireplace surrounds to inserted stack between front and rear ranges. Substantial remains of painted plaster panel with Latin verse and fleur-de-lys in reddish ochre in front first floor room ofrear range; other panels said to have been covered. Exposed timbers. MHLG Provisional List notes, upstairs in Corner House, "an iron door, now papered over, with a Latin inscription".
