YALDING SPENNY LANE TQ 74 NW (east side) 4/175 Nos. 1 and 2 Horns Lodge Cottages (also known as Horns Lodge) II House, now house pair. C17, with late C18 or early C19 facade. Timber framed. Exposed principal posts and studs with red and grey brick in- filling in stretcher bond to left end of ground floor, rest red and grey brick in Flemish bond. First floor tile-hung to front, weatherboarded to gable ends. Plain tile roof. Lobby entry plan of 3 timber-framed bays; two to left and one to right of stack bay. 2 storeys. Rendered plinth. Half-hipped roof. Multiple brick ridge stack to right of centre. Irregular fenestration of 3 two-light casements; two to left of stack and one to right. Boarded door under stack. Lean-to with weatherboarded gable, to left gable end. Central single-storey brick rear wing with plain-tile gambrel roof and door to long left side. Interior: only partly inspected. Exposed framing to left of stack. Unchamfered axial beam and unchamfered joists to left end ground-floor room. Chamfered axial beam and unchamfered joists to central room. Brick fireplace with chamfered bressumer to left of stack. Attic stairs with pegged doorhead in front of stack. Gunstock-jowled principal posts. Clasped-purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters and windbraces, incorporating re-used timber. Listing NGR: TQ7075445931
