Description

YALDING GREEN LANE TQ 74 NW (south side) Collier Street 4/91 St. Margarets House GV II Vicarage, now house. Early-to-mid Cl9, in a Gothick style, with slightly later C19 additions. Red brick in Flemish bond with yellow brick dressings and quoins, including quoins of chimney stacks, Plain tile roof, south- facing. 2 storeys, on brick plinth. Gabled, with moulded bargeboards. Slightly projecting brick gable end stacks, each with two diagonally-set flues with brick string towards base and top, and corbelled tops. Regular 3-window front of recessed twelve-pane sashes each with top row of pointed panes, and with cambered head. Similar windows to ground floor, with splayed rubbed brick,voussoirs. Central panelled door with plain rectangular fanlight and flat-topped Doric porch on stone step. Central rear wing in a similar style, with front and rear gable-end stacks with diagonally-set flues detailed similarly to those of main range. Regular 3-window front to long left (west) side, of two two-light casements with pointed upper panes and segmental heads, and blind central window; similar windows to ground floor, and central blocked pointed-arched doorway. Two short wings added adjacent to each other at right-angles to long right side of central rear wing, set back from rear gable end of central wing and from right gable end of main range, and each with weatherboarded gable and Gothick lights. Door with four flush panels, segmental head and four-light rectangular fanlight. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ7175246035
