                            LEEDS             LOWER STREET TQ 8253                                         (east side) 8/87                                         Monument to Mr. Thomas                                         Porter circa 17 yards                                         south east of south chapel                                         of Church of St. Nicholas GV                                        II Monument.  Late C18.  Stone, on double-stepped stone base with lightly-moulded plinth and corniced lid.  Fluted side panels. Flowers to corners of inscribed area.  Surmounted by swept, heavily gadrooned base with corniced top with iron spike for further ornament.  To Mr. Thomas Porter, d. 1784.
