House. C15 or earlier with late C15 and mid C16 wings and C18 porch. Timber framed, plastered and tile-hung with plain tile roof. Right angles to road. One-bay open hall, originally at least 2 bays, with later cross-wings. Right end cross-wing: late C15, parallel to road. 2 storeys and cellar on stone plinth, jettied to front elevation (north) with hipped roof. 2 timber framed bays. One 3-light leaded casement towards left end of first floor and one 2-light leaded casement on ground floor. Central Section: C15 or earlier, now 2 storeys, one timber- framed bay. Roof higher than that of left section. Stack off- centre to right. One 3-light leaded casement on ground and first floor. Left section: C16. 2 storeys with hipped roof. Pro- jecting brick end stack on stone base. One 3-light leaded casement on ground and first floor. Porch: to left of right cross-wing C18, timber framed with tile-hung first floor and rendered ground floor. 2 storeys on plinth, with hipped plain tile roof. Single-light first floor leaded casement. C20 boarded door. Interior: right cross-wing separately framed and originally close-studded to front elevation. Contains evidence of stair position. Central section has remains of coupled common- rafter roof, Arch brace to rear wall on first floor. Inserted floor and massive inglenook stack with chamfered stone jambs of mid C16. Left section of lighter scantling timber. Ground and first-floor fireplaces with jambs similar to those of hall fireplace. Exposed beams and posts throughout the house.
