ROMNEY PLACE 1. 5278 (North Side) Romney House TQ 7655 NW 2/52 30.7.51. II*
2. Early C18. 2 storeys and attics red brick with grey headers. Tiled roof with 3 dormers having wide wooden bracket eaves cornice. Brick stringcourse. 5 sashes with glazing bars intact in flush wooden frames. Doorcase with pilasters, rectangular fanlight and large pediment shaped hood supported on heavy carved brackets. Weatherboarded extension of one window set back at the east end of the front. This has a doorway with a door of 6 fielded panels, the top 2 panels cut away and glazed. To the right of this is a further extension of 2 storeys stuccoed with an old tiled roof and 2 triple casements. Garage doors on ground floor.
