BOXLEY ROAD 1. 5278 (South-East Side) Weald House at Maidstone Prison TQ 7656 SW 5/179B 26.7.73. II GV
2. Built 1809-l8ll by Daniel Alexander. This is one of the original cell blocks but has had a recent addition in pre-cast concrete to its north-east elevation. The south-west elevation is of 3 storeys Kentish ragstone. Wide eaves cornice. 21 segmental barred windows on the upper floors. Stringcourse between ground and 1st floors. The ground floor windows are set in blocked round-headed arcading. Slate roof with octagonal stone chimney pots. Pedimented side elevations.
