LENHAM OLD HAM LANE TQ 85 SE (west side) 4/221 Boldrewood Farmyard, 2 barns, Cart shelter, Stables and Granary- cum-cartshed with linking walls GV II Enclosed farmyard comprising 2 barns, cart shelter, stables and granary-cum-cartshed. Late C19. 2 barns and rear wall of cart shelter red brick with occasional grey headers in English bond, stables rag- stone with high ragstone plinth to rear wall, granary ragstone on ground floor, red and grey brick in English bond on first floor, all with plain tile roofs. Barns in north-east and north-west corners, linked by rear wall of cart cover. North-west barn linked by stables to granary in south-west corner. Barns on stone plinths with 2 three-stage brick buttresses, also on stone plinth, to each gable end, and 4 to each north wall. Half-hipped roofs. Diagonally- dentilled brick eaves cornice continued round gable ends and also up to and under each half hip. Ventilation holes in diamond pattern. 2 and 4 light vertical wood mullioned and transomed windows to right of door of north-west barn and to left of door of north-east barn. Both barns have central full-height wooden doors to south elevation and one small possibly inserted boarded door above eaves cornice in outer gable ends. North elevation of each barn has small central boarded door with segmental head. Stables: Single storey. 7 stable doors, each with 2-light window immediately above, continued into a 2- light frieze window to right. Granary-cum-carshed: 2 storeys with diagonally-dentilled brick eaves cornice. Hipped roof. Two 2-light casements with segmental heads in north wall. Boarded door in east wall reached by flight of ragstone steps with iron handrail, parallel to wall. Door to ground floor with stone ogee head in wall of steps. 4 boarded doors separated by ragstone piers to ground floor of south elevation, facing track outside farmyard. Interiors not inspected.
