FAIRMEADOW (East Side) No 9, Drakes Cork and Cask
(Formerly listed as No 9 (The Lamb Public House))
II A timber-framed building, probably C17 with a plastered front and the ground floor underbuilt but the second floor overhanging on a bressumer with four gables above. Tiled roof. Two storeys. Three modern casement windows. Modern pub front. Carriage entrance to the north which has an open timbered roof.
A plaque on the building records that near this spot in 1557 seven people were burnt for their faith.
