MAIDSTONE FARLEIGH LANE TQ 75 SW 10/10002 Half Yoke House (Nos 1 and 2) II
Originally one house, now subdivided. C15 timber framed open hall refronted in early C19 and with large mid C19 extension added to no 1 in later Cl9. Rear elevation faced with diaper brickwork on ragstone plinth. Other elevations plastered. Steeply pitched old tiled roof with ribbed late C16 brick chimney stack. Further early C19 external brick stack. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Tripartite C19 casements with cambered arches to ground floor. No 1 has elaborate mid C19 Gothic style porch with tiled roof, pendant and 2 centred arched doorcase with Gothick arch and plain spandrels. Front has 3 casements. Early C19 6 flush panelled door with flat wooden weatherhood on brackets. Attached to no 1 is a mid c19 2- storey 2 bay brick extension in Flemish bond with tiled roof and central brick chimney stack. 2 12-pane sashes with horns, blind boxes and gabled projection of similar date with cambered casements. Projecting gabled porch. Interior has sooted crown post roof, exposed curved braces and 2 large moulded spinebeams. It retains the original dais beam and moulding to spere truss and original C15 arched doorcase with 3 plank door. There is an C18 2-panelled door and 2 C18 china cupboards, 1 with serpentine shelves.
