LOWER ROAD TQ 75 SW EAST FARLEIGH (North Side) 2/50 East Farleigh House 23.5.67 GV II
House. Mid C18. Ground floor red brick in Flemish bond, first floor channelled render. Double depth. 2 storeys on rendered plinth. Plat band. Balustraded parapet above moulded cornice. Hipped plain tile roof. Stack towards rear to left. Regular 3-window front of 2 tripartite sashes (one 5-light, one 6-light) and central round-headed window with small squared wooden keystone and imposts. Four 12-pane sashes to ground floor with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Two 12-pane sashes and blank central space to left return elevation. Central recessed panelled door up 3 steps, with semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars and raised wooden keystone. Door flanked by Doric pilasters and frieze, with broken-based triangular pediment. Taller, narrower, rear range stopping short of right end. Interior: only partly inspected. C18 staircase with slender turned balusters and wreathed handrail. Said to have had keystone dated 1766.
