Description

EAST STREET TQ 74 NW HUNTON (West Side) 4/70 Bull Oast 15.11.1977 GV II Oast house, now house pair. Mid C19. Red brick in Flemish bond. Stowage has weatherboarding to gable ends and long-and-short stone quoins. Stone eaves band to kilns. Slate roof to stowage, plain tile roof to kilns. Rectangular stowage built at right-angles to road with 3 circular kilns to each long side, set back from gable ends. Stowage 3 storeys, kilns now 2 storeys. Hipped roof to stowage, conical roofs to kilns, with cowls. One recessed paned 2-light casement with splayed stone lintels and keystones, to each floor on each side of stowage, between kilns and front gable end. One 2-light C20 casement to road side of each kiln. Central loading door and frieze windows of each upper floor of gable end of stowage replaced C20 windows. Eaves pulley to centre of gable end. Panelled door to centre of right kiln. Interior not inspected. Listing NGR: TQ7295449230
