WELL STREET TQ 75 SE LOOSE (East Side) 3/210 Tudor Cottage and Snark Cottage GV II
House, now house pair. Late C16 or early C17, restored in C20. Timber framed, with rendered infilling. Left gable end weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. 4 timber-framed jays, that to left end slightly longer. 2 storeys and garret on stone plinth. Close-studded. Eaves of left gable end jettied on plain brackets. Multiple brick ridge stack in second timber-framed bay from left. Irregular fenestration of 4- casements; one 2-storey close-studded rectangular bay window to left timber-framed bay, with ground-floor cill on shaped brackets and with one 3-light casement to each floor. One small 2-light casement under eaves to stack bay. Another similar 2-storey close-studded rectangular bay to third timber-framed bay from left, and one small 2-light casement under eaves to right end bay. Adjacent ribbed doors under continuous plain-tiled canopy beneath stack; to Tudor Cottage to left and to Snark Cottage to right. Canted 2-storey close-studded timber- framed bay window on shaped brackets, to left gable end, with 8-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window with side-lights, to each floor. Narrow C19 two-storey parallel rear range in stone, with brick dressings. Interior not inspected.
