GROVE LANE TQ 74 NW HUNTON (North Side) 4/77 The Woolhouse GV II Oasthouse and granary, now house. C17 or early C18. Red and grey brick, laid with alternating courses of plain red stretchers, and alternate red stretchers and grey headers, forming pattern of punctuated strings of headers. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Plat band. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. Steeply pitched hipped roof. Brick stack in rear slope of roof towards centre. 3 hipped dormers. Regular 5-window front of recessed 2-light wooden casements, the 3 to centre more closely spaced. Segmental relieving arches to ground-floor windows. Broad central panelled door in a late C17 style, with short flat corniced hood on shaped brackets. Interior: only partly inspected. Heavy-scantling beams of non-domestic appearance.
