Description

YALDING CLAYGATE ROAD TQ 74 NW (South-west side) 4/73 Barn about 30 metres North-north- west of Wolsey Place II Barn. Late C16 or early C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded, with plain tile roof. 4 timber-framed bays, with midstrey to third timber-framed bay from left. Fifth bay added to right, probably in C18. Hipped roof, with gablet to right. Central full-height double doors. Interior: gunstock jowls to principal posts. Arch-braced tie-beams. Principal posts of second truss from left ledged for non-extant cross beam. Clasped- purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters and vertical queen struts to collars. Windbraces to second and third bays from left only. Tie- beam and wall-plates in same plane at right gable end. Wolsey Place not listed. Listing NGR: TQ7024847311
