2. An early C17 house, originally called Broughton House.  It was the home of Andrew Broughton (1603-1688) Clerk of the High Court and regicide who read out the death sentence on Charles I.  It was converted into 2 in the C18. It forms a centre and 2 projecting wings. 3 storeys and basement refronted in pebbledash except for the ground floor which is stuccoed.  Tiled roof. Cornice and parapet. Long and short quoins to the wings. 4 sashes with glazing bars intact. The wings each have a bay window on all floors. Doorcases with pilasters, a joint flat hood over, rectangular fanlights and doors of 6 moulded panels.
