Description

1. 5274 SWANSCOMBE AND GREENHITHE HIGH STREET (south side) Greenhithe Nos 17, 19 and 21 TQ 5875 SE 9/92 II 2. 1819. No 19 was originally a congregational church, now a paint brush factory. Nos 17 and 21 were probably built as cottages for the vergers. No 19 is of 2 storeys flint-faced with red brick dressings. Gable end with brick modillion cornice. Circular blank window opening. Two pointed arched windows on the first floor. The ground floor has a slated pentice porch with central pointed window and 2 pointed headed doorcases. Plinth. The interior has a gallery supported on their cast iron columns. The ceiling has 2 domes and there are 2 round headed blank arches on each side wall. The flanking cottages are 2 storeys built of squared knapped flints with rough flint dressings. Gable. Pilasters run the whole height of the building. One sash each with pointed arched windows and ogee-arched doorcases. Listing NGR: TQ5874075132
