Description

TQ 75 NE BOXLEY HARP FARM ROAD (west side) 5/69 Harp Farmhouse G.V. II House. C16 or earlier, with late C18 or early C19 cladding and attic storey, and C20 cross-wing. Timber framed. South elevation clad in red brick in English bond on ground floor and tile-hung above, with plain tile roof. In 2 sections, left approximately twice as long as right, but probably one range below eaves level. 2 storeys on brick plinth. Left section has cellar, and added mansard roof containing attics, half-hipped at left end, gabled at right. Roof of right section is lower, running into cross-wing at right end. Multiple red brick stack in front slope of roof immediately below ridge, at right end of mansard roof but central to whole range. Slightly projecting buff brick stack at left end. 2 plain dormers in mansard roof. First floor of whole range has irregular fenestration of 4 C19 sashes; one towards left end and one to right of centre of mansarded section, and 2 close together filling most of right section. Blocked door in centre of right section. C20 brick porch at end of right section with pitched plain-tile roof and tile-hung gable. Panelled door with glazed top light. C19 addition at left end in gault brick with slate roof, one storey, with stack at left end. C20 cross-wing at right end with ground floor of re-used bricks, first floor tile-hung, and hipped plain tile roof. Various C19 additions at rear. Listing NGR: TQ7741759926
