YALDING HIGH STREET TQ 6950 (east side) 6/126 The Coach House (formerly listed, under High Street, 23-5-67 North Arm, as R. Coates, Grocer and Draper, with the house attached.) GV II House. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof. Double depth. 2 storeys, attic and cellar, on chamfered brick plinth. Plat band. Dentilled brick eaves cornice. Plain brick pilaster to each end of front elevation. Roof has flat-topped gable to left, with brick coping and kneelers, and is continuous with Interphil House to right. Red and grey brick gable end stack to left, and projecting rear brick stack to left. Twelve-pane attic sash to gable end. Regular 3-window front of two tripartite sashes and central twelve-pane sash, with cambered heads and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Two similar tripartite windows to ground floor. Central door of two flush and four fielded panels, with rectangular fanlight with radiating glazing bars, set in panelled recess. Outer architrave has pilasters with narrow sunk panels, reeded to top, with plain frieze and moulded cornice. Single-storey section to left, of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, probably increased in height at a later date, with dentilled brick eaves cornice, flat-topped gable, brick stack, and rear through dormer with Gothick lights.
