EAST SUTTON HEADCORN ROAD TQ 84 NW (west side) 5/82 Little Moatenden GV II
Farmhouse, now house. Late C16 or early C17. Timber framed. Ground floor clad with chequered red and grey brick, first floor tile-hung. Plain tile roof. Lobby entry plan. Built at right angles to road. 5 timber-framed bays including central stack bay, originally with continuous jetty to north. Further bay added to west. 2 storeys and attic on brick plinth. South elevation: roof hipped to left with gablet. Multiple brick ridge stack off-centre to right and brick stack to left end. Skylight. Irregular fenestration of 4 leaded casements; two 2-light towards left, one 4-light in rectangular first-floor bay with tile-hung base, and one 4-light towards right end. Panelled door beneath stack, with open timber porch. Interior: Exposed framing. Moulded 4-centred arched stone fireplace to right first floor room, and chamfered brick fireplace to left room. Corridor, probably original, along north wall of first flour, with close-studded partition, and evidence for doorway to east end room. Possibly another to ground floor. Aligned butt-side purlin roof with curved windbraces and raked queen-struts. C19 or early C20 timber- framed alterations to north.
