Full Description

Roman material was uncovered during the excavation of an electric cooling pond at Dovers Electric Light Works, off Park/Ladywell Place, Dover, in 1923. It is likley (though not certain) that this pond was excavated in association with the acquisition by the works of 1500-kilo watt 3-phase 50-cycle turbo alternator costing £24,800 in the early 1920's.
