Summary
A small Roman unguent bowl and a water bottle were located during excavation undertaken on Adrian Street in 1855. The bowl is of a grey clay painted a reddish colour and the bottle is globular bodied with a short neck of a sandy grey clay which has been fired red, burnished black and given a wavy line decoration. (location accurate to the nearest 100m based on available information)

Full Description
A small Roman unguent bowl and a water bottle were located during excavation undertaken on Adrian Street in 1855. The bowl is of a grey clay painted a reddish colour and the bottle is globular bodied with a short neck of a sandy grey clay which has been fired red, burnished black and given a wavy line decoration. Numerous other finds of a Roman date have been found on and within the vicinity of Adrian Street, including both inhumation and cremation burials. The finds were donated to Dover Museum in 1855 where they are located still. (1)
