Full Description

The Paddocks consists of three ranges. Range 1, the three storey range to the north, is the earliest and appears to be of an 18th century date. Range 2 appears to be of two phases of construction, with the north-eastern parts given a late 18th or early 19th century date. Prior to 1841, Range 2 appears to have been extended to the south-west. Range 3 consists of a number of single storey extensions constructed to the rear of the building from the late 19th century onwards. Litte visible evidence of the early fabric is visible, and a fire in 1996 led to a rebuilding of much of the building's exterior. As such, its general character and appearance is that of a late 20th century building, though there is a possibility that modern features might be obscuring earlier underlying details. (1)
