The earthworks of a possible post medieval chalk pit can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This chalk pit is situated to the east of Shorne and can be seen as a slight depression. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
