Summary

A silver denarius dating from 17BC and showing the head of Augustus. Found in 1989 by metal detection at Tudor Farm. The coin was in a damaged condition; its present whereabouts are uncertain.

Full Description

(TQ81427455) Ro coin (AR Denarius) dated to 17 BC, ref MSRC-MACER-IA-6. Found by metal detection at Tudor Farm, in Aug 1989. The obverse side of the coin shows a Head of Augustus right, AVGVSTVS CAESAR and the reverse side shows A comet DIVVS IVLIVS. Catalogue reference RIC 37a, Seaby RCV 484. The coin is damaged. (1,2).
