Monument record TQ 77 NW 202 - Probable ring-ditch, south-west of Red Barn Cottage

Summary

An assessment of aerial photographs carried out by English Heritage in 2009-2012 identified two probable ring-ditches, one of which is located to the east (TQ 77 NW 1401). The cropmark of an incomplete ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow located to the south-west of Red Barn Cottage, on the western side of Cooling Street. The ring ditch is defined by a single ditch and has a diameter of 16.5m. The northern half of the ring ditch cannot be seen. This site mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

The cropmark of an incomplete ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow located at TQ 7443 7535 to the south-west of Red Barn Cottage, on the western side of Cooling Street. The ring ditch is defined by a single ditch and has a diameter of 16.5m. The northern half of the ring ditch cannot be seen.
