Findspot record TR 34 SW 1903 - Part of an Ancient pile from Dover Harbour, Dover western Docks

Summary

Part of an ancient timber pile was located at Dover's western docks in 1849. A large scale redevelopment of Dovers western docks was undertaken in the Tudor/Elizabethan periods and it is possible that this pile was driven during this redevelopment. The timber was donated to Dover museum in 1849 where it is located still. (location accurate to the nearest 100m based on available information)
