Findspot record TR 36 SW 77 - Copper Celtic coin, Cottington Hill, Minster
Summary
A 'Celtic' coin was found on Cottington Hill by a metal detectorist in 1991. Despite its worn condition the coin has been identified as of the Trinovantes or of Cunobelin, King of the Catevellauni. On this basis it has been dated to c.10-20 AD. Depicted on the coin are images of a Celticized Pegasus and a Victory. The coin is made from copper alloy but its present location is unknown.
