Findspot record TR 36 SW 78 - Gaulish Iron Age coins, Cottington Hill, Minster
Summary
Three Iron Age coins were found on Cottington Hill by a metal detectorist in 1991. The coins have been identified as of Gaulish type, and have been dated to the mid 1st century BC. Two of the coins are made of copper alloy and the other is made of bronze cast potin. The coins were found in varying states of preservation and depict a variety of stylised scenes including bulls, warriors, eagles and boars. It is uncertain where these finds are now located.
